Dorothy J.  Jiles
Sister Dorothy Jean Jiles – born in Orrville, AL located in Dallas County, she was a lifelong resident of Mobile and a loyal, faithful and dedicated member of the Rock of Faith MBC. There she served diligently on Usher Board #1, the Pastor’s Aid Board and she worked with the Youth Caucus, even after her health began to fail. She loved her church and her church loved her. She answered her call home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey & Josephine Jiles and her brother, Herman Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Mary Watts of Selma, AL; a loving and devoted daughter, Moshay (Johnny Johnson III) of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Julia Draine of Mobile, AL, Fannie (Joe) Goins of Selma, AL and Wanda Smith of Washington DC; two brothers, William Smith of Germany and Jerry Smith of Washington DC; one uncle, Tom Jiles of Orrville, AL; four grandchildren, Le Jada Jiles, Shacorria Matthews, William Matthews and Jaykia Jiles-Banks; three goddaughters, Margaret Portlock-Hayes, Candis Barren and Latonya Thomas all of Mobile, AL; devoted friends, Nathaniel Moore, Cheryl Bradley, Emma Perryman, Elizabeth Lowe, Patsy Steward, Michael Madison, Geraldine Barren, Patricia Allen, Rachel Washington and Clara Portlock; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.

Her remains will lie in state on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 1- 8pm at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9am until the 11am “Homegoing Celebration” at Rock Of Faith Baptist Church, 1105 South Ann Street, Mobile, AL., Rev. Fleet Belle, Pastor. Interment will follow in Lawn Haven Cemetery, Theodore, ALABAMA.
