Obituary for Lonnie Bettis Jr.
Mr. Lonnie Bettis, Jr. was born on September 19, 1936 in Mobile, AL. He departed this life on Saturday, February 3, 2018. He was born to the union of Alonzo Lonnie and Vivian (Stevenson) Bettis. He was baptized and received Christ at an early age at Lily Baptist Church and later united with the Temple Of Jerusalem Ministries.
He was a retired Merchant Seaman with SIU and a graduate of Bishop State Community College with an Associated Degree in Culinary Arts. He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo Lonnie and mother, Vivian Bettis. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Shirley (Lynum) Bettis; grandson: Harold (Keisha) Brazelton; sister: Hattie Bettis Washington; brothers: Jerome (Annette) Bettis and Robert (Mattie) Bettis; a host of other relatives and friends.
His remains will lie in state 5-8pm Friday, February 9, 2018 at Small's Mortuary, Mobile. AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at Temple Of Jerusalem Ministries, 810 N. Wilson Ave., Prichard, AL. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Mobile, AL
